Our beautiful pool facility was designed for relaxing and socializing. With certified lifeguards, dressing rooms and a snack bar, it is a great place to cool off on a hot summer day. The Greenwood Country Club pool side is a terrific place for parties. Schedule a poolside birthday party for your children, grandchildren, or just a group of friends. General Pool Rules and Guidelines

Approved by the Board of Governors and Effective May 1, 2012

And Revised June 9, 2023

1. Hours of Operation: The club will attempt to provide a lifeguard from 1:00pm until 5:00pm during the established swimming season, but assumes no responsibility for accidents that may occur. The pool will be closed from 8:00pm until 8:00am. All persons shall vacate the pool at 6:00pm or any other closing time to allow the lifeguard to clear the swimming pool.

2. Swim at Your Own Risk: Club members, their families and guests use the pool and attendant areas at their own risk.

3. Age Restrictions:  Unattended children under the age of ten are not permitted in the pool. Children under that age must be under the direct supervision of a responsible person who is at least 16 years of age or older.

Unsupervised children under the age of eighteen are not allowed to use the pool while a lifeguard is not on duty.

4. Deep End: Children under the age of 10 are prohibited from swimming or using the diving board at the deep end without a parent or guardian present at the deep end unless two or more lifeguards are on duty and one lifeguard is stationed at the deep end.                                                 

5. Sign In and Guest Fee: All members, members’ children and guests are required to “sign-in” immediately upon arrival and sign out at their departure. The pool register will typically be located at the lifeguard stand.  A daily fee will be charged for each adult or child guest who swims or sunbathes. The Guest fee will be waived for those who act as a nanny, babysitter, or guardian.

6. Who May Be Invited as Guests: Members shall be responsible for the conduct of their family and guests. Children who are residents of Greenwood, Mississippi whose parents are not members of the Greenwood Country Club that reside in the city limits as well as those that live within a 25 mile radius of Greenwood may be invited by an adult Member of GCC to our swimming pool. Their guest fee will be charged to the host Member’s account.

The daily guest fee will be waived for:

a. Members’ grandchildren.

b. Members’ adult children who reside outside of Leflore County and more than 25 miles from Greenwood.

c. A single member, 21 years of age or older, may invite a guest to the pool 18 years or older who lives within Leflore County or within 25 miles of Greenwood.

7. Lifeguards Authority and Safety: In the interest of safety, GCC’s lifeguards shall have the authority to supervise and regulate the conduct of members’ children as well as that of guests in and around the pool.

a. The use of “Floaties” and other Red Cross unapproved floatation devices are prohibited.

b. No rough play, running, playing tag or other dangerous games will be permitted.

c. No glass containers of any description will be allowed in the pool or pool area.

d. No obscene or vulgar language will be allowed.

e. No person may enter the pool, Snack Bar or their attendant areas in an intoxicated condition.

f. No person having or apparently having, an infectious disease, skin abrasion or rash shall be permitted in the pool.

g. Those that bring children to the pool may not turn the backs of the lounges or chairs that they occupy towards the pool. You are responsible for your child’s safety at all times.

h. Extended talking or visiting with a lifeguard while on duty is prohibited.

8. Diving and the Diving Board: Diving will be allowed only from the diving board. Only one person will be allowed on the diving board or step-up at any one time. Jumping or diving from the sides of the diving board or from the lifeguard tower will not be permitted.

10. Threatening Weather/Unsafe-Unhealthy Circumstances: There will be NO swimming or being on the pool or Snack Bar Decks when thunder or lightning is present. The lifeguard will have the sole decision when to close the swimming pool, the pool deck and the Snack Bar Deck in the case of threatening weather or unsafe-unhealthy circumstances. Only the lifeguard or senior management will have the authority to determine when those areas will be re-opened.

11. Food, Snacks and Beverages:

a. All food and beverages consumed at GCC must be purchased from our club. No personal coolers or their contents are allowed on our property.

b. Food and snacks including Ice Cream must be consumed either in the Snack Bar or on the wooded Snack Bar Deck. Only Beverages may be brought to and consumed on the Pool Deck.

12. Pets: No pets shall be allowed in or at the pool, pool or Snack Bar Decks or in the Snack Bar.

13. Safety Issues, Performance of Lifeguards, Questions, Concerns, and Complaints: Should be brought to the immediate attention of our Club Manager, Mary Garrard, Administration Asst, Tina Benton or Swimming Pool Chairman.

14. Failure to Comply with These Rules, Policies and Procedures: Any person who repeatedly ignores or fails to abide by these Rules may be subject to a fine or suspension at the discretion of the Board of Governors.
